Back In Red

I’M BACK! It is Feb. 1st and blogging bonanza has officially begun! Every other day you will find a new post on EWK featuring an OOTD, FASHION WEEK AWESOMENESS, campus style and perhaps some style challenges. I am so excited to be back!

DSC_0004 DSC_0010Recognize me without my glasses?  Ahh to get lasik…one day.
DSC_0002Wonder why this little get-up is first for the month? Well, it’s red and it’s February…pretty sure you can figure this one out. You’re smart.

DSC_0001I’d say that this has become one of my signature outfits. Dress, tights and wedges. You get to hide your during-the-winter-hairy-legs without simply resorting to jeans and a tee AND still be girly with a dress and wedges during the winter. BAM.

I am definitely an online shopper. Most of the times my shopping cart is filled with hundreds of dollars worth of merch. Every once in a while I’ll finally press the checkout button. It makes me happy…

DSC_0019…but its a problem.

Now that EWK is back in full throttle, have any posts that you have been dying to see? Let me know in the comments below!

BYU-ers Like To Play Tourist

Not only did I pretend to be smart over my weekend in San Fran, but the BYUers also hit up some tourist attractions. Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, and the Golden Gate Bridge. BAM.

Chambray Shirt: F21+ / Sweater: DI / Leggings: WalMart / Loafers: Forever Young / Watch: Kohl’s / Camera Bag: Amazon.com
At Pier 39, we went to this awesome restaurant called the Fog Harbor Fish House where they had free sourdough bread on our tables at all times. By the time my food came, I wasn’t even hungry anymore! And considering that we were there for three hours, we must have really loved it.

Cheetah In A Sweater

I. Love. Fall. Yeah, I complain about the cold weather a lot, but I love that all of my fave television shows are on again (Vampire Diaries, baby!), I can pull out my grandpa sweaters, and I have an excuse for drinking hot chocolate all of the time. The season is inching towards us here in Provo and I am so excited.

Sweater: Kohl’s / Tank: Old Navy / Jeans: F21+ / Platforms: F21 / Socks: WalMart / Choker: Mall in Lima, Peru

Denim and Denim

Hello lovelies! Here are a few quick pictures of what I wore today. The light floral sweater and denim vest are both thrifted and I love them!

I hope that all of those students out there are having a good time meeting new friends (and Professors and TA’s, of course). Remember, it’ll take some time to officially get out of the summer mode…give it a few weeks and you’ll be in the swing of things again.

Sweater: Deseret Industries / Denim Vest: Deseret Industries / Necklace: F21 / Sunnies: Peru / Lipstick: L’Oreal

Jeans: F21+ / Wedges: Old Navy

Have a fantastic, fabulous, and inspiring day!

An Iron&Wine Concert

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Went to the Twilight Concert Series in SLC with a friend of mine that I know from the Embassy, church, living in Peru, and BYU (crazy connections, huh?). We saw Kathleen Edwards and Iron&Wine. We were sweating like (insert anything really sweaty) because there were tons of people and it was hot outside. Plus, we were dancing. As the encore, Iron&Wine sang “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” from the Twilight soundtrack. It made me very, very happy. This is what I wore (:

Top: Deseret Industries / Skirt: Cotton On / Booties: F21 / Belt: Deseret Industries / Sunnies: Buffalo Exchange / Earrings: F21

When you are going to a concert where there are going to be a lot of pushy people, it is very important to wear closed toe shoes that are really old or that you don’t care too much about. I guarantee that you are going to step in something or be stepped on at least once. These were my go to shoes in HS that I haven’t used in over a year…I think I may have to arrange a shoe funeral pretty soon.
The sweater really works perfectly with the blue, high low skirt because it has a similar hue of blue in the floral print.

I’m planning on going again next Thursday with my camera (and two lawn chairs) to document all of the cool fashion that was happening in Pioneer Park so I can share it with all of you!

WOOOH. WOOOH. WOOOH. WOOOH. WOOOH. WOOOH. WOOOH. WOOOH. WOOOH.

Here’s a picture that I took from my phone of Iron&Wine.

Been to any concerts lately? What would you wear? Let me know in the comments below (:

Vintage Willy Wonka

I love relaxed summer days because I can literally do whatever I want. I sleep in, have waffles at 11AM, get dressed, and proceed to turn into an internet and movie addict for the rest of day. I hope that you are doing at least a little bit of time wasting during your vacation too! Somewhat unfortunately, school is coming up again and so my loose schedule is about to change very drastically. I’m sure that all of those students out there in the world are feeling the same way: dreading the first day of the end of summer vacation. Do me a favor, do something somewhat stupid before you have to be responsible again. It’ll do you some good.

Waffles for breakfast…YUMMY and oh so filling. Are you liking my breakfast pictures? I figured that it would remind some people to enjoy their breakfast and not just hork it down every morning.

Today the weather was quite odd in Utah because it was hot, as always, but it was also dark and cloudy like it was going to rain, which it sort of did. I decided to add an oversized open crochet sweater on top of a summery, animal print dress in honor of the inevitable summer to fall transition.

Sweater: Old Navy / Dress: F21 / Shoes: F21 / Sunnies: Buffalo Exchange / Necklace: Indigenous tribe in Iquitos, Peru / Socks: H&M / Lipstick: L’Oreal

This necklace was handmade by a few indigenous jungle folk in Iquitos, Peru (No, I wasn’t kidding). My family is posted in Lima, Peru and some of my family and I were able to go to the jungle last December while I was home from college. At one of the rustic tourist locations along the Amazon River, there was a group of people of all ages that showed us one of their native dances, taught us how to shoot at targets by blowing into long tubes, and invited us to buy some of their artisan work. They had a ton of awesome jewelry, but this piece really stood out for me. Also, I knew that the small proceeds would go towards helping out this tribe, which was something that I was happy to support.

I really love how this look is casual but still sophisticated.

Have a sweater that is literally too massive to wear? Tie it up around your waist so the fabric doesn’t swallow your figure!

These sunnies have wacky frames that remind me of Willy Wonka, but become more classy and vintage with the tortoise finish, which by the way is a massive trend.

I am loving these lacey socks (: They remind me of something that my mom would’ve put me in when I was little.

“Oompa loompa doompadee doo
I’ve got another puzzle for you
Oompa loompa doompadee dee
If you are wise you’ll listen to me!”
