I GOT BANGS AND I’M LOVIN’ THEM!

Yeah, I totally stole this from my sister. Thanks, Mary!DSC_0041These earrings have become staples in my wardrobe. They have a cool vintage look and weigh practically nothing due to their hollow-ness. I hate when my earrings are too heavy.

My total outfit probably cost less than $60 because of all of the great deals that I got. Ahh how I love (and live off of) bargain shopping!

How have all of your holidays been? Lima with the family and friends has been awesome so far. I am so not ready to go back to school yet. My accounting 200 class is definitely not calling my name…

We had dinner and chilled with my Peruvian family for Christmas Eve. If you ever wondered what a traditional 70’s Peruvian home looks like, wonder no longer. DSC_0253

Please ignore the crazy spotty sunburned leg. I spent TWO HOURS in the sun at the beach and I got fried. Story of a white-girl-who-forgot-to-put-sunblock-on-her-leg’s life.DSC_0256

Floral Princess

Hello Everyone! I’m finally in Lima to visit my family for the holidays and I am loving it. Plus, it’s summer down here, which is a definite plus. NO MORE SNOW FOR TWO MORE WEEKS!

DSC_0032I love these booties for their comfort and fashion. I can wear them anywhere due to comfort. I can wear them with anything because they are neutrals. I love them even more because thy were on SALE, BABY!

DSC_0041DSC_0027Last summer I was really into making my own flower crowns because they are easy to create and really stand out in a crowd. Check out one of my posts featuring another one of my DIY crowns HERE (:

I hope that you get the chance to visit with some family and friends over the break because it is really important to relax and reconnect. Create some awesome memories this Christmas by staying traditional or trying some new things out. This year my family has been trying something new out. They re-wrapped all of the Christmas books that we have been accumulating over the years and put them under the tree. Every night (well, the nights we remember) we all get together to open a new book and read it together while drinking hot chocolate with candy canes. It’s adorable.

The LBD

On Sunday morning, Sarah woke up in the wee hours of the morning to go to church with all of her roomies for the first time. She was excited to get dressed up for another gorgeous fall day, until she slid her closet door open with despair. Her mostly fashion-forward mind went completely blank. Anxiety began to electrify her nerves and prompted her to crawl back under her teal sheets. Defeat.

But wait! Just as she was brushing her right hand over the tops of the mismatched hangers for the last time, Sarah hovered over a black dress that had hung for many months without use. Today was the day. The LBD that had been forgotten about had the chance to hug her body and bring her confidence throughout her day once more. With a feeling of relief, Sarah slipped on her LBD, put on her favorite cheetah platforms, and hung some bling on her neck. She had done it again. All with the help from her trusty LBD.

Your Little Black Dress can come to your rescue as well. They say that dogs are man’s best friend. Well, LBDs are the chic girl’s best friend.

Dress: JcPenny / Collar Necklace: F21Platforms: F21
Anorak: F21+
Awesome Ring: F21 (pardon the lack of manicured nails)
I have such cute roomies! I forced everyone to go outside to take a picture after church because I wanted to document the first time that we all went to the same ward together.  I am so determined to document more of my time here at BYU and my roomies will just have to suck it up and pose for the camera (:

BYU-ers Like To Play Tourist

Not only did I pretend to be smart over my weekend in San Fran, but the BYUers also hit up some tourist attractions. Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, and the Golden Gate Bridge. BAM.

Chambray Shirt: F21+ / Sweater: DI / Leggings: WalMart / Loafers: Forever Young / Watch: Kohl’s / Camera Bag: Amazon.com
At Pier 39, we went to this awesome restaurant called the Fog Harbor Fish House where they had free sourdough bread on our tables at all times. By the time my food came, I wasn’t even hungry anymore! And considering that we were there for three hours, we must have really loved it.

Does This Dress Make Me Look Green?

This was one of the outfits that I wore in San Fran over the weekend. I rode the ghetto muni in this dress. I cried in this dress. I held  a baby in this dress. This dress has seen a lot…and this was its first outing ever. I bought this dress with the Kohl’s cash that I collected from a previous purchase. Now raise your hand, no matter where you are, if you have ever gotten a sweet coupon or deal that you totally forgot about and felt all depressed about afterwards? Yeah, I’m raising my hand too (I literally just raised my hand. DO IT).

Here’s a tip that will prevent you from ever wasting a good deal. In your planner, which you should have as the efficient college kid that you are, tape your coupon on the first day that it starts or on a day that you know you can use it. Now you will never forget it. Your welcome.

Dress: Kohl’s / Lace Cardigan: Ross / Belt: F21+ / Tights: Target / Combats: Target /

And this is me taking pictures in the road trying not to die.

I just want to thank Melanie Jones and Amy Harrison for their fantastic photography skills. I couldn’t have posted these pictures without you!

Random Acts Of Francisco Fashion

Lights. Smoke. Homeless people. Thrills. PR. Fashion. These are just a few of the words that describe my weekend in San Francisco, CA for the Public Relations Society of America National Conference. I learned so much, met so many people, and enjoyed so much fashion that I could barely contain myself. I dreaded coming back to Utah because I enjoyed the city life so much! It was definitely a weekend to remember.

Here are a few snippets of what I wore as well as the crazy, sophisticated, and edgy fashion at the conference…

Fall Trending: Burgundy/Oxblood Red

WHAT THE FREAK IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BURGUNDY AND OXBLOOD RED?! I have done my research and there are very slight differences between the two. Something about the amount of green in the color combination.

Bloggers around the world are using the two words interchangeably. I think that it’s more fun and cooler to say oxblood red and so I am going to call it that. This color is definitely the epitome of fall this year. You can wear it on your legs, arms, feet, lips…anywhere. I bought these Vera Wang leggings/pants on sale at Kohl’s for $20 and these automatically became one of my fall staples the moment that I first tried them on.

Pants: Kohl’s / Jacket: La Quinta in Lima, Peru / Belt: BYU Bookstore / Combats: Target / Tank: F21+ / Earrings: Jewelmint.com

I am at the Salt Lake City Airport becuase I am going to San Francisco, CA for the weekend for the PRSSA National Conference. I am so excited! Look out for some awesome posts coming straight from Cali (:

All Wrapped Up

One of the perks of being a diplobrat is that I have been able to go shopping in countries like India, Guatemala, and Japan. When my family used to live in India, my mom and I went to Khan Market and bought practically every wrap skirt, short and long, that we could get our hands on. We gave a ton to extended family and friends living stateside, but we obviously kept some for ourselves. It was fun and I can’t wait for a repeat when I go back to Peru for New Year’s!

Top: La Quinta in Lima, Peru / Skirt: Khan Market in New Delhi, India / Belt: Ross / Flats: Target / Earrings: F21 / Watch: Kohl’s

Wrap skirts are awesome, but also very dangerous when you’re walking around campus and a gust of wind comes by to reveal everything underneath. I have learned not to trust the weather and to take precautionary measures. Put a safety pin underneath your wrap skirt/dress to secure the two sides of the fabric. Be careful not to poke yourself in the process!

The Black Blazer

It has been almost two weeks since I last posted and I now nominate myself as the “Worst Blogger of the Month.” I love to wear blazers during this time of year because they add a sleek and professional touch to my cozy fall wardrobe. I apologize for the crap quality…my camera/the lighting was being dumb.

Blazer: Old Navy / Cobalt Dress+Belt: F21+ / Necklace: Vintage
Tights: Target / Loafers: Forever Young Shoes
This necklace used to belong to my great grandma, Meema. She was a spunky New Jersey lady and I always think of her whenever I wear it. My favorite part about vintage pieces is being able to recreate them with a modern twist. Plus, I find myself thinking about how Meema would’ve worn it back in the day.
I always roll up my sleeves when I wear plain blazers because it adds more dimension.I was testing out my camera and Nicole was pretending to be me. Yeah, we had a laugh.

*FASHION TIP: You can wear jean on jean, but try to make sure that you layer different washes so the fabric doesn’t overwhelm you*
